Acceptable Use Policy
What you may and may not create with Write a Song AI, how we screen requests, how to report content, and how we enforce this policy.
Last updated: 2026-10-29
Write a Song AI ("we", "us") lets you create songs with AI. This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") sets out the content you may not create, how we moderate requests, how to report a problem, and what we do when this Policy is broken. It applies to everyone who uses the service and forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Scope
This Policy covers everything you submit to or create with the service:
- Your inputs: song descriptions (prompts), titles, styles and lyrics you write or paste.
- AI-generated output: song audio (vocal and instrumental), AI-written lyrics, song titles and cover images.
Songs on Write a Song AI are generated by AI. When you share a song, do not present it in a way that misleads people about how it was made.
2. Prohibited content
You may not use the service to create the following six categories of content:
- Pornography / NSFW content, including sexually explicit lyrics.
- Violence / gore, including content that glorifies or incites violence against people or animals.
- Hate speech, including content that attacks or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
- Child-unsafe content (CSAM), including any sexual content involving minors.
- Deepfakes / impersonation of real people, including songs that imitate a real singer's voice or identity, or are presented as the work of a real artist.
- Content that infringes copyright or trademarks, including lyrics you do not have the right to use and songs presented as an existing copyrighted work.
2.1 Zero tolerance
The following are removed immediately, end the account, and may be reported to the authorities:
- Child sexual abuse material or any sexual content involving minors.
- Content that promotes or facilitates terrorism, extremism or mass violence.
- Content inciting genocide or hatred against a group.
- Deepfakes of real people, including fabricated statements, performances or intimate content, whether or not the person consents.
2.2 Other prohibited conduct
- Harassing, threatening or defaming a real person, including in a song "for" or "about" someone.
- Spreading misinformation or content designed to deceive.
- Impersonating a real person, brand or organization.
- Infringing anyone's intellectual property, publicity or privacy rights.
- Bulk-generating spam or deceptive commercial content.
- Trying to bypass our safety checks, for example by rephrasing a refused request to get around them.
3. How we moderate
- Automated screening before generation. Every new generation request (description, title, style and lyrics) is checked with Waffo Content Safety before anything is generated or any credits are used. Only requests that pass are generated. A refused request shows a message and uses no credits; a request that needs a closer look is held, and you can try again later.
- Review of reports. Reports from users and rights holders are reviewed by a person (see sections 4 and 5).
- Abuse monitoring. We rate-limit generation and watch for unusual usage, such as many accounts created to get free songs.
Automated screening focuses on sexual content and content involving minors. Violence, hate speech, impersonation and copyright problems are mainly handled through reports and review, so please report anything you find.
3.1 Severity levels
- Critical: child safety, terrorism or extremism. Removed immediately; the account is terminated and the matter may be reported to the authorities.
- High: severe violations of section 2, such as explicit sexual content or deepfakes of real people. Content removed and the account suspended or terminated.
- Medium: other violations of section 2. Content removed and a warning sent.
- Low: minor problems, such as a misleading title. You are asked to correct it.
4. Reporting
Report content or behavior that breaks this Policy, a song that infringes your rights or impersonates you, or anything involving child safety. Reports are kept confidential and reviewed impartially. Knowingly false or abusive reports may themselves lead to action against the reporting account.
5. How to report
- Email: support@writeasongai.com, with "Report" in the subject. You do not need an account.
- Support tickets: sign in and open a ticket at Settings → Support Tickets. Say which song or account you are reporting and why.
Both channels are monitored by our team.
- Rights holders: include the work you own, the song you believe infringes it, and how to reach you.
6. Response times
- Critical: first response within 24 hours; resolved within 48 hours.
- High: first response within 2 business days; resolved within 5 business days.
- Medium and low: first response within 5 business days; resolved within 10 business days.
If a case needs longer, we will tell the reporter why.
7. Enforcement
Depending on severity and history, we may:
- Refuse the request (automatic, before generation).
- Send a warning and ask you to change or remove the content.
- Remove the content from your library.
- Suspend or terminate your account.
- Report the matter to the relevant authorities and cooperate with investigations.
Purchases on accounts terminated under this Policy are not refundable, as set out in our Refund Policy.
8. Appeals
If you believe a request was refused or an action was taken by mistake, email support@writeasongai.com or open a support ticket within 14 days, explaining what happened. Appeals are reviewed within 10 business days.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy as the service and the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will give notice of material changes on the site. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated Policy.
